Disney’s Memory Maker Review
Is Disney’s Memory Maker Worth It?
We purchased the add-on of Disney’s memory maker on our last trip. As your Disney bestie, I’m ok with being the one to make mistakes. And I wanted to see if this photo pass add-on was a win or a flop. Of course I will pass on all the details to you, bestie!
Where can I use PhotoPass Memory Maker?
All of the resorts! If you see a PhotoPass cast member, walk right up (unless there’s a line), scan your park card or Magic Band and have them snap away. The parks have a ton of photo opportunities. I like to find the ones that are tucked away, in a unique spot. Like just after the bridge to Tomorrowland or over near Ariel’s Grotto.
Bestie Tip:
Magic Shots
Ask for MAGIC SHOTS! They are super fun shots that have a unique spin to them. They are available anywhere a PhotoPass cast member is.
What happens in my photos don’t show up?
This happened to us! First, they might take up to 24 hours to link up to your account if coming from an attraction. You can always go to the PhotoPass center located in each park and they will help find your photo(s). It is helpful to remember what time your rode the attraction so they can narrow down the search.
Do we recommend Disney’s Magic Maker?
Well, that depends on a few things.
- Do you come to the parks often? If yes, then I’d only recommend getting the Magic Maker for one-day or special occasions.
- Are you coming with a big group? If yes, then yes get Memory Maker. It is so much easier arranging a decent family photo with a big group when a cast member is doing the directing. You also won’t have to worry about finding someone to take the photo or leaving someone out of the photo to be the photographer.
- Do you plan to build Photo Pass stops into your day? You will need to plan to stand in line, or take a 5-10 minute pit stop for these photos. If that takes away from precious park time, then I don’t recommend it. But if you want ALLLLLL the photos and plan to stop, then yes – just remember to build it into your day.

Important things to know about Disney’s PhotoPass Memory Maker:
You have 45 days from when your last photo was taken to download them.
You have to scan your magic band in most locations, besides attractions.
Photos are unlimited! Visit ALL the spots!
Do we plan to use Memory Maker again?
Yes, we will definitely use memory maker whether it is just one day or for an entire trip. If we plan to stop at 5+ PhotoPass locations & use it on attractions + character meet & greets, i’d say we got our money’s worth!
2023 Photopass update: If you purchase Genie+ your attraction photos are included for that day.
